This reduces the amount of water used by your shower substantially and can cut your water bill by up to %60 according to the U.S. Department of Energy. Taking shorter showers, less baths, and turning off water when you aren't using it all help substantially in cutting cost. Finally, replacing leaky faucets can work wonders in saving you money. 

According to the National Sanitation Department leaky faucets waste 1000-2000 gallons every year. In a similar vein it's important to check your toilets often for silent leaks which can cause upwards of 500 gallons of water to be wasted every day! To check for this, place some colored dye in the tank of the toilet and if the color seeps into the bowl, you've got a leak. All of these methods together can save you hundreds or thousands every year.
